Dr. Xuefan Gu specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of pediatric growth and endocrine disease, as well as clinical diagnosis, treatment, and genetic counseling of inherited metabolic disorders and rare diseases, including dwarfism, precocious puberty, sexual abnormality, obesity, thyroid and adrenal diseases, intellectual retardation, hereditary and metabolic diseases, metabolic bone disease, multi-malformation, etc.
Dr.Gu has been active in clinical diagnosis, treatment and preventative research of pediatric genetic diseases and endocrine diseases for a long time. He has presided over more than 10 projects including National 863 Program, National Supported Subprojects of the 11th and 12th Five-year Plans, and General Projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China. He has edited several high impact monographs such as “Screening of Neonatal Diseases”, “Screening of Neonatal Genetic and Metabolic Diseases”, and “Clinical Genetic and Metabolic Diseases”. He has won eight provincial and ministerial awards for scientific and technological progress, including the Soong Ching Ling Prize for Pediatric Medicine.
