Chen Wang, M.D., Ph.D.

Dr. Chen Wang has a Ph.D. in Medical Sciences at Vrije Universiteit Brussel. She has more than 30 years of experience in clinical practice, teaching, and research in Endocrinology and Metabolism. She worked in Class A tertiary Hospitals in China for many years.

Dr. Wang specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of endocrine metabolic diseases such as diabetes, obesity, thyroid disease, and hyperuricemia. She is distinguished in the basic and clinical research in the area of the development of diabetes. She won various research awards including the research achievement award of China Insulin Secretion Group and a National Science & Technology Achievement Award.

Dr. Wang is a member of the Islet Regulation and Regenerative Medicine Group of the Diabetes Branch of the Chinese Medical Association. She is also the deputy head of the Chinese Insulin Secretion Group. She leads several projects of NSF, the Chinese Ministry of Education, and Shanghai Municipal Science and Technology Commission. She has published more than 100 academic papers as the first or corresponding author and co-edited 3 collections of books on Endocrinology and Metabolism.
