Jiwu Chen, M.D., Ph.D. (Visiting Specialist)

Since 2021, Dr. Chen has been the chief of the sports medicine department of the Shanghai General Hospital affiliated to Shanghai Jiaotong University Medical School. Dr. Chen had worked in the sports medicine center at Huashan Hospital, Fudan University for almost 20 years and earned a good reputation in the field of sports medicine and arthroscopic surgery in China. Dr. Chen visited many top centers of sports medicine in the world and updated himself with the cutting-edge surgical knowledge and techniques. Dr. Chen was invited to give the keynote speeches or perform live surgical demonstrations many times at the international congress. His papers were published in top journals, including the American Journal of Sports Medicine and the Journal of Arthroscopy and Related Surgery. 

Additionally, Dr. Chen’s expertise extends to the diagnosis and treatment of various issues, including arthroscopic and minimally invasive surgery for bone and joint injuries and disorders, as well as acute and chronic injuries. His specific focus areas encompass:

• Shoulder joint disorders: rotator cuff tear, habitual shoulder dislocation, scapular labral injury, frozen shoulder. 

• Elbow joint disoders: collateral ligament injury, elbow instability, loose body, tennis elbow, osteochondral injury. 

• Wrist joint disorders: triangular fibrocartilage complex injury, ulnar impingement

• Hip joint disorders: hip pain, impingement, acetabular labral injury, loose body, hip rotator cuff tear. 

• Knee joint disorders: anterior and posterior cruciate ligament injury, multiple ligament injury, meniscus tear, patellar dislocation, synovitis, etc. 

• Ankle joint disorders: ankle instability, ankle osteochondral injury, ankle impingement.
