Dr. Wei Gao, currently serving as an Associate Chief Physician in the Department of General and Colorectal-Anal Surgery at Shanghai General Hospital, affiliated to Shanghai Jiaotong University School of Medicine. He holds both M.D and Ph.D. degrees. Dr. Gao specializes in surgical treatments for colorectal-anal tumors, including laparoscopic minimally invasive surgery for colorectal cancer, NOSES (Natural Orifice Specimen Extraction Surgery) incisionless procedures, and sphincter-preserving surgery for low rectal cancer. Additionally, he skills in the diagnosis and treatment of benign colorectal-anal diseases, such as individualized minimally invasive therapies for severe hemorrhoids, complex anal fistulas, pilonidal cysts, perianal abscesses, surgical management of constipation. Additionally, he performs both transabdominal and transanal minimally invasive surgeries for severe rectal prolapse and is proficient in the emergency treatment of abdominal surgical emergencies.
Dr. Gao has participated in the translation of multiple authoritative works in the field of colorectal surgery and has presented at numerous global professional conferences.
