Bo Wu，M.D., Ph.D. （Visiting Specialist）
Dr. Bo Wu, MD, PhD, Master's Supervisor, currently serves as the Chief Physician of the Thyroid, Breast, and Hernia Surgery Department at the Sixth People's Hospital Affiliated with Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine, and also as the Chief Physician of the Shanghai Jiao Tong University Thyroid Disease Center. With a long-term focus on clinical and basic research in thyroid diseases, Dr. Wu possesses extensive clinical research experience and excels in minimally invasive thyroid surgery and radical surgery for advanced thyroid cancer. He has published over 50 papers in core journals both domestically and internationally, including 10 articles with an impact factor (IF) above 3.5, as the first or corresponding author.
Dr. Wu has presided over or participated in two projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, two projects funded by the Shanghai Science and Technology Commission, one med-eng cross-disciplinary project of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and one hospital-level project of the School of Medicine. He received the 2020 Shanghai Science and Technology Progress Award (First Prize) for "Establishment and Application of Molecular Mechanisms and Key Diagnostic and Therapeutic Techniques for Thyroid Cancer" and the 2020 Huaxia Medical Award (Third Prize) for "Establishment and Application of Key Techniques for Precise Diagnosis and Treatment of Thyroid Tumors".
As a core member of the Shanghai Jiao Tong University Thyroid Disease Diagnosis and Treatment Center, Dr. Wu participated in the establishment and leadership of the center, which integrates resources from multiple tertiary and secondary hospitals to form a multi-institutional, multidisciplinary collaboration model, performing over 8,500 thyroid surgeries annually. The center has published 6 monographs on thyroid diseases, including "Endoscopic Surgery of the Thyroid and Parathyroid Glands", which is a key book project of China's 12th Five-Year Plan. Dr. Wu has made significant contributions to molecular diagnosis and minimally invasive surgery for thyroid diseases, he also serves as a reviewer for multiple domestic and international academic journals, and has applied for 3 patents.
