Dr. Junwei Fan, MD, PhD, Master's Supervisor, currently serves as the Chief Physician of Hepatobiliary Surgery at Shanghai General Hospital Affiliated with Shanghai Jiaotong University School of Medicine.
Dr. Fan has been dedicated to the diagnosis and treatment of hepatobiliary and pancreatic diseases, as well as liver transplantation, with an annual surgical volume exceeding 360 cases. He possesses extensive clinical experience in minimally invasive surgery for hepatobiliary and pancreatic diseases. His areas of expertise include gallstones, cholecystitis, gallbladder polyps, gallbladder adenomyomatosis, gallbladder tumors, benign and malignant liver tumors, liver cysts, hepatic hemangiomas, and obstructive jaundice.
In recent years, Dr. Fan has been the surgeon who has performed the most laparoscopic cholecystectomies (LC) at his hospital for 10 consecutive years, with 210, 250, and 330 cases in the past three years, respectively. Since 2019, he has been practicing single-incision LC, with his total surgical volume for this technique exceeding 1,100 cases.
