“China lnnovation in Global Healthcare”2025 SinoUnited Health International Medical Forum Concludes Successfully
On November 28, 2025, the SinoUnited Health International Medical Forum themed as “China lnnovation in Global Healthcare” was successfully held in Shanghai. The forum brought together renowned medical experts from China and abroad, as well as entrepreneurs and executives from sectors including technology, finance, and education, for insightful sharing and dialogues to explore new trends and innovative practices in global health development. The forum featured three parallel sub-forums throughout the day: the CAR-T and Advances in Hematology, Women’s Health, and Healthcare Innovation. Through keynote speeches and roundtable discussions covering frontier hematologic oncology treatments, full-cycle women's health guardianship, the application of AI technology in healthcare, and explorations in longevity medicine, the 2025 SinoUnited Health International Medical Forum established an international exchange platform, effectively promoting the deep integration of global cutting-edge medical expertise with clinical practice in China. Dr. Kathy Shi, Founder and CEO of SinoUnited Health, emphasized, “‘China lnnovation in Global Healthcare’ is not just a slogan, but the consistent development path of SinoUnited Health. We are committed to gathering top global medical resources to ‘bring in' the world's most advanced medical wisdom; simultaneously, we integrate international experience with local realities to explore locally innovative medical service models in practice, demonstrating China's implementation speed and model innovation.” Focus on Hematology: Decoding Frontier Advances in CAR-T Therapy As a major center for medical science in Asia, Shanghai, leveraging its profound accumulation and pioneering exploration in the treatment of blood diseases, is increasingly becoming an important medical destination attracting global patients. CAR-T cell therapy (Chimeric Antigen Receptor T-Cell Immunotherapy) is a personalized cell treatment. It involves collecting a patient's own immune cells—T cells—genetically modifying them in vitroto enhance their ability to specifically recognize and kill tumor cells, and then reinfusing them. In May 2025, the SinoUnited Health International CAR-T Cell Therapy Center was officially established. The launch of the center marks China's entry into the global first tier in the field of cell therapy. In just over a year, SinoUnited Health has received inquiries from more than 100 overseas patients globally and has successfully completed CAR-T cell treatment for over 20 patients from countries including New Zealand, the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Canada, and Singapore. Professor Justin Zhu, Co-Chief Medical Officer of SinoUnited Health, delivered the opening address and shared SinoUnited Health's dedicated philosophy and development vision in the field of hematologic oncology. The first academic session was chaired by Prof. Hua Shen, Medical President, Shanghai SinoUnited Hospital, Co-Chief Medical Officer, SinoUnited Health. Prof. Zhao Weili from Ruijin Hospital presented a report titled “Improving the Treatment of R/R LBCL in China: Exploration and Perspective”. Subsequently, the academic sharing session was chaired by Dr. Kwong Yok Lam from Hong Kong's Queen Mary Hospital. Dr. Zhou Lili, Chief of Hematology Department and international CAR-T Cell Therapy Center at SinoUnited Health, delivered a presentation on the “SinoUnited Health CAR-T Therapy Achievements and Outlook”. The session on “Management of CAR-T Toxicities and Treatment” was chaired by Prof. Aibin Liang from Tongji Hospital. Dr. Yi Lin from Mayo Clinic gave a systematic presentation on the topic. The following academic session was chaired by Prof. Hua Yan from Ruijin Hospital. Dr. Rajiv Pruthi from Mayo Clinic provided an in-depth analysis on the “Diagnosis and Management of Bleeding Disorders” in patients with hematologic tumors. A special patient sharing session featured Dale De Penning from New Zealand, who shared his story of rebirth. In 2023, as Dale was preparing for retirement, he experienced abdominal pain and major bleeding, leading to an emergency room visit. A biopsy diagnosed him with Stage IV diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL). The mass, nearly 20cm, was compressing various organs like the ureter, bones, muscles, and intestines, making his condition very critical. Dale underwent three different chemotherapy regimens, all with unsatisfactory results. After careful comparison and consultation, Dale traveled from New Zealand to Shanghai SinoUnited Hospital for CAR-T cell therapy. Now, his indicators have completely normalized; he is not only mobile but can also go sea fishing and hunting in the mountains. The forum featured two roundtable dialogues, bringing together leading authorities in hematologic oncology from China and abroad. Prof. Jian Hou from Renji Hospital, and Prof. Zhen Cai from the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University, co-moderated a roundtable titled “CAR-T Future Prospects • Global Collaboration”. Participants included Dr. Kwong Yok Lam from Hong Kong's Queen Mary Hospital, Prof. Juan Du from Renji Hospital, Dr. Yi Lin from Mayo Clinic, and Dr. Lili Zhou from SinoUnited Health. Subsequently, a roundtable dialogue on “Challenges in the Aging Era · Road to the Cure of MM” was moderated by Prof. Jianmin Yang from Changhai Hospital and Prof. Wenbin Qian from Second Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University. This session featured discussions with Dr. Rajiv Pruthi from Mayo Clinic, Prof. Yao Yi from the United States, Dr. Alma Calavera from the Philippines, and Dr. Itsara Anongjanya from Thailand. Concluding the CAR-T forum, Prof. Hua Shen, stated, “The‘SinoUnited approach’ demonstrates how China's CAR-T therapy, through its professional expertise and humanistic care, provides a reliable treatment option for patients worldwide. The global insights gathered and the Chinese innovations showcased at this forum fully affirm China's role as an indispensable force in the global CAR-T cell therapy landscape.” Safeguarding Health Throughout Lives, Empowering the 'She Era' In today's world where “the power of women” is flourishing, women's health and well-being have become essential metrics for social progress and harmony. From the uncertainties of adolescence and the challenges of childbearing years to the transition through menopause and the care needed in old age, women face unique health needs at different life stages. This necessitates a shift from traditional, fragmented health services to a consistent, systematic “full life cycle” management approach. Dr. Kathy Shi emphasized that promoting “Her Health” not only empowers women's personal development but is also a key measure to strengthen the foundation of family health and unleash the social value of “the power of women”. The SinoUnited Health Women's Health Center, drawing from management models like that of Mayo Clinic, features a “General Practice + Specialists” approach covering women's entire life cycle, aiming to become a trusted “health partner” for women. Dr. Lily Yan, Director of the SinoUnited Health Women's Center, shared the center's development journey. “From its establishment in 2019 to the present, the SinoUnited Health Women's Health Center has provided consultations for over 250,000 female patients, offered comprehensive health management services to thousands of menopausal patients, conducts nearly ten thousand breast cancer screenings annually, and has performed breast cancer surgeries for patients in need. These solid data and outcomes are a practical reflection of the philosophy of safeguarding women's health throughout the entire life cycle.” Dr. Carol Kuhle from Mayo Clinic delivered a presentation titled “Assessing and Treating Female Sexual Dysfunction” to the attending guests. She elaborated in detail on how to standardize the assessment and differentiation of female sexual health issues, and thoroughly discussed the selection and clinical application of various comprehensive treatment options, including hormone therapy and psychological-behavioral interventions. Dr. Sandhya Pruthi, from Mayo Clinic, focused on “Breast Cancer Survivorship: Health Promotion and Management”. She provided a detailed explanation on performing precise risk stratification for recurrence in breast cancer survivors and developing health promotion plans that include regular monitoring, lifestyle interventions, and psychological support. The Women's Health forum featured two roundtable discussions, bringing together experts from the medical field, business community, and investment sector. In the roundtable titled “From Early Screening to Longevity: Investing in Women's Full Life Cycle Health”, participants explored viable pathways and resource support for managing women's health throughout their lives. They emphasized that achieving full life cycle health for women requires the integration of individual decision-making, family planning, corporate support, capital, and technology to transition from disease prevention to achieving high-quality longevity. This dialogue was moderated by Dr. Lily Yan from SinoUnited Health, with participants including Dr. Sandhya Pruthi from Mayo Clinic, Ms. Chang'an Xie from PepsiCo Greater China, Ms. Xiaofei Xia Mercer and Marsh Mercer Benefits China, Ms. Jue Lu, from Shanghai Sci-Tech Bank, and Ms. Lei Hua from Longevity Asset Management. In the roundtable discussion themed “Health: The Invisible Canvas behind Women's Leadership”, guests analyzed the explorations and practices of female leaders in effectively maintaining their physical and mental health while pursuing career ambitions. The discussion highlighted that what contemporary female leaders truly need is not isolated wellness techniques, but a systematic mindset that deeply integrates health into their personal growth and organizational development strategies. This session was moderated by Ms. Sheng Lu, from Shanghai Overseas Returned Scholars Association, AEMA, AEWA. Participants included Dr. Carol Kuhle from Mayo Clinic, Dr. Yvette Kong, Chief of Gynecology Department at SinoUnited Health, Ms. Bihua Xiong, from J.P. Leading the New Era of Longevity Medicine, Building an Innovative Medical Landscape The Healthcare Innovation Forum focused on centering on frontier topics such as longevity and artificial intelligence. It explored how health management can break through traditional medical boundaries to empower individual and family health in an era of increasing life expectancy. The SinoUnited Health Longevity Clinic team made a collective appearance through a video titled “How to Achieve Healthy Longevity?”. The clinic brings together a multi-disciplinary team to deeply analyze how to achieve synergistic development of “longevity” and “high-quality life” through medical intervention and lifestyle adjustments, based on clinical practice. Misha Mo, Director of Internet Operations at SinoUnited Health, provided a detailed introduction to the SinoUnited Health membership system, highlighting its unique advantages in delivering high-quality, personalized healthcare services. Dr. Sumit Bhagra from Mayo Clinic delivered a presentation on “AI Applications in Diabetes: From Promise to Practice”, explaining how AI enhances the precision and efficiency of diabetes management, from future prospects to clinical implementation. In a speech titled “Transforming Healthcare with AI and Automation”, Mayo Clinic's Dr. Anjali Bhangra further explored AI's evolution from an “auxiliary tool” to a “core driver of medical transformation”, sharing practical experiences from leading global medical institutions. The Healthcare Innovation Forum featured two roundtable discussions, bringing together diverse perspectives from the investment community, medical field, academia, and industry. In the roundtable titled “The New Era of Longevity Medicine: Building a Future Model for Family Wellness”, moderated by Dr. Siyu Yan, Chief Physician of New Bund Clinic at SinoUnited Health, participants including Dr. Sumit Bhagra from Mayo Clinic, Prof. Shawn Qu, Chief & Chief Expert of Endocrinology, Metabolism and Thyroid Center at SinoUnited Health, Mr. Alex Gu from Medtronic, Mr. Chao Yu from BCG, and Ms. Yin Ge from Her Growth and Han Kun Law Offices, engaged in an in-depth discussion. Malaysian Patient Underwent Advanced Heart Procedure at SinoUnited Health
A Malaysian patient has successfully undergone pulse field ablation (PFA) for persistent atrial fibrillation (AF) in Shanghai. The procedure, performed by internationally renowned cardiac electrophysiologist Dr. Feifan Ouyang, has successfully restored the patient’s normal heart rhythm, providing effective treatment for longstanding condition. The case highlights Shanghai’s growing role as a destination for advanced cardiac care, supported by world-class medical expertise, international-standard services, and convenient access especially for patients across Asia. Patient Seeking Advanced Cardiac Treatment in Shanghai AF, a common but complex heart rhythm disorder, can significantly increase the risk of stroke if left untreated. Suffering from persistent atrial fibrillation, the Malaysian patient traveled all the way to Shanghai and sought specialized care from Dr. Feifan Ouyang at Shanghai SinoUnited Hospital. Following a comprehensive assessment, Dr. Ouyang recommended pulse field ablation (PFA), a cutting-edge ablation technology for AF. Different from traditional thermal ablation, PFA applies pulsed electric fields to precisely target abnormal cardiac tissue with minimal damage to healthy surrounding tissues, delivering higher procedural accuracy and safety. The surgery was performed under humanized general anesthesia, ensuring complete pain relief during the entire procedure. The patient's treatment journey—from admission and a two-hour procedure to discharge—was completed within two days. The outcome reflects not only the minimally invasive nature of PFA, but also SinoUnited Health's integrated care model to deliver a seamless treatment experience for international patients. World‑Class Expertise Meets Innovation Led by Dr. Kathy Shi, Founder of SinoUnited Health and Chief of Cardiology, the Heart and Vascular Center assembles a full lineup of top domestic and international cardiovascular specialists, covering the full continuum of cardiovascular diseases ranging from common arrhythmias, coronary artery diseases, high-risk complex cardiac disorders, critical cardiac emergencies and long-term cardiac rehabilitation. Supported by well-established cross-hospital referral networks with leading tertiary hospitals in Shanghai, the center enables seamless emergency transfers and continuous uninterrupted care, optimizing the golden rescue window and improving overall patient outcomes. Comprehensive, Patient-Centered Cardiac Care Many of the cardiac patients are senior adults with multiple coexisting conditions such as kidney disease and metabolic disorders. From pre-treatment evaluation to surgery and recovery, the Center applies Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) protocols to accelerate rehabilitation and support long-term health. Beyond the hospital, patients benefit from digital health platforms and AI-assisted Family Doctor services for remote monitoring, follow-up care, medication management, and personalized guidance. SinoUnited Health Launches Longevity Clinic Under Official Guidance of Mayo Clinic, Pioneering Multidisciplinary & Digital Management
“Longevity isn't just about ‘living longer’, but about ‘living a longer and healthier life’. If I had to define SinoUnited Health's Longevity Clinic in one sentence, it is ‘an internationally standardized, medical longevity medicine program’” said Dr. Kathy Shi, Founder and CEO of SinoUnited Health, President of Shanghai SinoUnited Hospital, and Chief of Cardiology Department. Recently, under the official guidance of the globally renowned top-tier medical institution Mayo Clinic, SinoUnited Health officially inaugurated its Longevity Clinic in Shanghai. Dr. Shi revealed that the clinic is deeply rooted in SinoUnited Health's nearly decade-long health management practice, serving tens of thousands of families through continuous physical examinations and interventions, standardized processes, evidence-based data systems, and the collaborative experience of its “General Practitioner + Specialist” multidisciplinary center. After over a year of preparation, SinoUnited Health has assembled a multidisciplinary team spanning cardiology, endocrinology, neurology, sports medicine, nutrition, sleep medicine, psychology, family medicine, and TCM. By integrating molecular and proteomic analyses, biomarkers, advanced imaging, digital platforms, and the latest global evidence on lifestyle medicine, the clinic comprehensively introduces Mayo Clinic's longevity medicine concepts, grounded in robust evidence-based medicine and its advanced chronic disease and anti-aging management models to China. Localizing International Standards Dr. Stacey Rizza, Executive Medical Director, International Practice and Asia Pacific at Mayo Clinic, stated that the Longevity Clinic established by SinoUnited Health strictly adheres to the Healthy Longevity Medicine Clinic Standard – the world's first evidence-based and internationally recognized clinical guidelines for longevity clinics. It leverages SinoUnited Health's strong capability in comprehensively addressing “specialized diseases + chronic diseases”. “While introducing top-tier international medical knowledge and technology, SinoUnited Health’s Longevity Clinic aims to establish a longevity clinic system suited to the Chinese population, providing scientific, systematic, personalized, and verifiable medical-grade longevity management solutions.” SinoUnited Health, as a serious medical institution launching Longevity Clinic, highlighted some key merits. First merit is the depth of multidisciplinary collaboration; second, the benchmarking against international standards and their localization; third, the application of digitalization and AI. Multidisciplinary Relay Dr. Shi stated: “World Class Standard of Care with Chinese Innovation – health knows no borders. SinoUnited Health, grounded in international medical standards, converges cutting-edge global technology and multidisciplinary expertise, using digitalization and AI as the engine to truly implement longevity medicine as a multidisciplinary relay.” “Each discipline has its blind spots, but sitting together at the same table for the same patient allows us to cover each other's shortcomings.” SinoUnited Health's multidisciplinary team integrates “specialized answers” into a “holistic plan”, thereby clarifying and solidifying solutions for complex problems. Illustrating this, Dr. Shi shared a recent case: A patient engaging in long-term, high-intensity lower-body training developed a varicocele. This condition often involves abdominal pressure mechanisms and can potentially impact testicular function and testosterone levels, subsequently affecting physical fitness, metabolism, and training outcomes. A single-specialty perspective struggles to identify the full chain of risks. Doctors from SinoUnited Health's Sports Medicine, Urology/Andrology, Endocrinology, and Cardiology departments conducted a joint assessment of the patient, ultimately providing a solution with clear causality, controllable risks, and a defined pathway. Moving forward, SinoUnited Health will leverage this core competitive advantage in the field of longevity medicine to truly realize the positive effects of its collaborative network centered on primary care coordination and multidisciplinary joint decision-making. Furthermore, supported by evidence-based medicine, SinoUnited Health will assist individuals interested in longevity management by translating six key lifestyle factors significantly associated with longevity into actionable daily plans. These include regular moderate-to-vigorous physical activity, high-quality nutrition, smoking avoidance, alcohol reduction, maintaining a healthy weight, and strong social connections (staying connected and “present” even after retirement). The ultimate goal is to combine these foundational interventions with dynamic re-evaluation and goal management, ensuring changes are “visible, sustainable, and effective long-term”. AI and Digital Platform Empowerment The challenge of multidisciplinary collaboration lies in dispersed information and communication costs. SinoUnited Health addresses this by introducing AI and digital platforms for both physicians and patients. Physician-side AI integrates medical history, examinations, medications, and cross-disciplinary findings, highlighting potential interactions, assisting joint decision-making, reducing “communication loss”, and enhancing collaboration efficiency and consistency. Patient-side AI aggregates individual data, goals, and preferences to provide readable, actionable, and trackable recommendations; offers intelligent reminders for plan changes, abnormal trends, and follow-up milestones. Throughout the entire longevity management process, the digital platform ensures continuity, encompassing assessment, planning, execution, follow-up, and re-evaluation. It enables data accumulation and quality improvement while providing the infrastructure for acquiring and analyzing real-world data from wearables, home monitoring, genetic and molecular diagnostics, and novel therapies. SinoUnited Health adheres to the principle of “open-minded but prudent in implementation”- prioritizing safety before efficacy, validation before scaling, steadily advancing the Longevity Clinic program within ethical and regulatory frameworks. Indeed, longevity medicine is still rapidly growing: patient interest is high, translating research into practice remains challenging, and unified standards at the clinic level are still being established. Therefore, collaboration to build clinical standards and research databases is even more crucial. In the future, SinoUnited Health will collaborate with domestic and international academic and clinical institutions to promote standardization, conduct joint research, and help establish longevity medicine as a core component of preventive and personalized healthcare.

They immediately coordinated with Dr. Daniel Tong’s general surgery team for multidisciplinary consultation. Upon arrival, Dr. Tong assessed surgical risks, evaluated contraindications and indications for surgery, engaged in thorough communication with the patient, and promptly performed a minimally invasive laparoscopic appendectomy, which was successfully completed. Postoperatively, leveraging SinoUnited Health’s Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) protocol, the patient received precise anesthesia management, postoperative analgesia, professional nursing care. Shanghai SinoUnited Hospital pioneers intl CAR-T cell therapy center
Shanghai SinoUnited Hospital announced the official launch of its international CAR-T cell therapy center on May 21, set to provide safe and efficient therapeutic services with a primary focus on CAR-T cell treatment for patients worldwide. CAR-T cell therapy stands as a revolutionary form of immunotherapy designed to combat blood cancers by engineering a patient's own immune cells to target and destroy cancerous cells. Speaking on the hospital's pioneering efforts, Zhou Lili, the director of hematology, highlighted China's prominence as a global leader in CAR-T clinical trials, benefiting from streamlined regulatory frameworks and cost-effective manufacturing capabilities. Zhou emphasized the immense growth potential of China's CAR-T cell therapy sector, underpinned by robust government support, a sizable patient population, and rapid advancements in biotech innovation. The hospital's reputation as a premier medical institution has attracted international patients worldwide, drawn by its well-established multidisciplinary collaboration system, patient-centric services, successful CAR-T treatment outcomes, and cost-effective solutions. Since the commencement of CAR-T therapies at the hospital in July 2024, they have effectively treated 12 patients hailing from countries and regions such as New Zealand, the United Kingdom, Germany, the Philippines, and China's Hong Kong. One remarkable success story involves a 30-year-old IT professional from Hong Kong diagnosed with CNS lymphoma, who had previously lapsed into a coma and experienced failed chemotherapy attempts. Following referral to the hospital, the patient's condition markedly improved within three months through a comprehensive CAR-T therapy regimen. The hospital's innovative "23-day treatment package", encompassing cell collection, preparation, infusion, and rehabilitation, significantly reduced the treatment duration compared to traditional methods. Zhou highlighted the cost-effectiveness of the treatment in China, offering a substantial reduction in expenses compared to Western countries such as the United States. "In Western countries, it could cost 8 to 10 million yuan ($1.1-$1.4 million) for the treatment, but in China such as at SinoUnited Health, it only takes one-fifth of the cost including service," Zhou said. "The cost-effective advantage, combined with rich experience of the medical teams, positions China as a global hub for affordable, high-quality care." In addition to clinical services, the center offers comprehensive support for international patients, including visa assistance, airport transfers, localized payment options, and tailored recovery travel plans spanning Shanghai and its neighboring regions. Zou said the center's overarching goal is to eliminate geographic barriers in healthcare access by facilitating remote consultations between top-tier Chinese public hospital experts and overseas patients, while fostering collaborative partnerships with institutions in New Zealand and beyond to share China's CAR-T expertise. "Many patients face treatment gaps or agonizing waits in their home countries. We strive to be their final hope," she said.
