Dr. Junbo Ge

Dr. Ge Junbo is a Member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Professor, and Doctoral Supervisor. Having graduated from the University of Mainz in Germany in 1993 with a Doctor of Medicine degree, he currently serves as Vice President of Tongji University, Director of the Department of Cardiology at Zhongshan Hospital Affiliated to Fudan University, Director of the Shanghai Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases, and Director of the Stem Cell and Tissue Engineering Center at Fudan University.

He also holds important academic positions at home and abroad, including President-Elect of the Cardiovascular Disease Branch of the Chinese Medical Association, Council Member of the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions (SCAI) in the United States, and International Advisor of the American College of Cardiology (ACC). Since 1987, he has been engaged in clinical and scientific research on cardiovascular diseases, with his research focus on the pathogenesis, early diagnosis, and optimization of treatment plans for coronary heart disease.

As a project leader, he has successively undertaken more than 20 national and provincial-level scientific research projects, such as serving as the Chief Scientist of the National 863 Program, leading 2 sub-projects of the National 973 Program, and participating in the National Eleventh Five-Year Plan Science and Technology Support Program, National Natural Science Foundation of China, National Outstanding Youth Fund, key discipline construction projects of the 211 Project and 985 Project, key clinical discipline projects of the Ministry of Health, and key clinical medical center construction projects in Shanghai. As a corresponding author, he has published 176 papers included in SCI-E, edited 1 English monograph and 11 Chinese monographs.

In addition, as the first completer, he has won many important scientific and technological awards, including the Second Class Award of the National Science and Technology Progress Award, the Second Class Award of the National Technology Invention Award, the First Class Award of the National Science and Technology Progress Award of the Ministry of Education, 2 Second Class Awards of the Chinese Medical Science and Technology Award, and the First Class Award of the Shanghai Science and Technology Progress Award.
