Pan-vascular diseases are systemic vascular diseases characterized by vascular lesions, with atherosclerosis accounting for up to 95% of cases. These diseases pose serious threats to vital organs such as the heart, brain, kidneys, limbs, and major arteries. In 2015, Academician Junbo Ge, a member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Director of Cardiology at Zhongshan Hospital, first advocated the concept of pan-vascular medicine in China. Under his leadership, the Pan-vascular Disease Management Center has explored the pathogenesis, prevention, and treatment strategies of pan-vascular diseases at various levels, significantly contributing to the continuous improvement of cardiovascular health in China.
In 2023, SinoUnited Health joined the certification process and became a development organization for the "Pan-vascular Disease Management Center." With cardiology as its core, the center adopts a multidisciplinary diagnostic and treatment model of "general practice + specialist", conducts early screening and diagnosis, and promotes remote disease management through the Greenland digital health management platform. The center aims to build a one-stop diagnostic and treatment platform for pan-vascular diseases, providing patients with comprehensive, around the clock personalized health management and treatment, providing high-quality medical care.
High-Risk Populations for Pan-vascular Diseases: The following populations should prioritize screening for pan-vascular diseases:
Patients with hypertension, hyperlipidemia, or diabetes
Smokers or those with a history of smoking
People with a family history of cardiovascular diseases
Overweight and obese individuals
Those who lack exercise or have a sedentary lifestyle
People over 40 years old, especially men
Laboratory tests: Full lipid panel, HbA1c, biochemical blood tests, homocysteine, etc.
Blood pressure monitoring
Electrocardiogram (ECG)
Echocardiography: Cardiac color Doppler ultrasound, left heart function measurement, etc.
Vascular ultrasound: Carotid artery ultrasound, vertebral artery ultrasound, subclavian artery ultrasound, lower limb artery ultrasound
Arteriosclerosis detection: Four-limb blood pressure, pulse wave velocity measurement (PWV), Doppler ankle-brachial index (ABI)
Coronary artery calcium scoring
Fundus photography
Lifestyle modifications: Moderate exercise, healthy diet, smoking cessation, weight management
Risk factor control (e.g., primary prevention): Total cholesterol, blood pressure, blood glucose, BMI
Anti-atherosclerotic and anti-thrombotic therapy
Antithrombotic treatment:Antiplatelet drugs, anticoagulants
Lipid-lowering treatment: Statins, cholesterol absorption inhibitors, PSCK9 inhibitors
Multidisciplinary Collaboration, Patient-centered personalized assessment and treatment
The SinoUnited Health Pan-vascular Center adheres to the concept of pan-vascular medicine, overcoming the limitations of single-disease research through a multidisciplinary collaboration model of "general practice + specialist" formulating exclusive treatment plans based on different vascular lesions and target organ damage in patients, and providing personalized assessment and comprehensive prevention and treatment.
